Welcome
The North Bute Literary Society was founded over a hundred years ago, in the nineteenth century. It is still providing food for thought in the modern age.
Literature, history, music, art, antiques, travel... the subjects covered in the fortnightly talks are varied and interesting. Guest speakers are a mixture of local residents and invited guests, chosen for their expertise in particular areas.
The Literary Society is a great way to make and meet friends, to discover new ideas, and to pass a long winter's evening in a stimulating environment. So abandon the potted culture of the television for an evening and enrich your experience in a new/old way.

Meetings of the Literary Society are held in the village of Port Bannatyne, the second largest settlement on Bute.
