Religious education forms part of the curriculum. In addition to the class teachers' work in this area the school is fortunate to be served by an active school chaplaincy. They make a valued contribution to the life of the school including attending the weekly assemblies to which parents of the children whose class is providing that week's theme are invited. In addition to the weekly assembly, church services are held at the end of each term.

Alternative arrangements are made for children whose parents inform the school that they do not wish their children to take religious education.

Parents from ethnic minority religious communities may request that their children be permitted to be absent from school in order to celebrate recognised religious events. Only written requests detailing the proposed arrangements will be considered. Appropriate requests will be granted on not more than three occasions in any one school session and the pupil noted as an authorised absentee in the register.
